Do you feel it is your responsibility to provide an environment where your child can avoid disease and have a healthy strong body, and strong immune system? Do you want your child or children to be able to achieve and fulfill whatever purpose they have in their life with optimal health? If I could show you a way where you could achieve this lifestyle, would you be open to hearing about it?
Here is an alarming statistic, according to a CNN health report of 2006, “The United States has the second worst infant mortality rate in the developed world. The infant mortality rate is defined as the number of deaths within the first year of life.
Read that again. Second worst? With access to the best medical facilities in the world? How is that possible?
Studies are also showing that asthma is now the most chronic condition among children. 8.4% of American children suffer from asthma compared to 4.3% of children in the rest of the world. Your children are twice as likely to experience asthma here than anywhere else in the world? Why?
According to Camilla Siabella, MD, Director of the Center for Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the Cleveland Children’s Clinic, “An infant’s immune system doesn’t mature until around two to three months.” According to a study in AM J Epidemiology, 2010, Antibiotic exposure before six months of age is associated with asthma and allergy at six years of age. This means that antibiotics are making our children sicker and increasing the chances of asthma and allergies as they get older.
Chiropractic Care for Asthma
Chiropractic helps asthmatics by adjusting the second and third thoracic vertebrae. These two vertebrae are the main nerve supply to the lungs. Other thoracic (upper and mid-back) vertebrae may need to be adjusted as well due to the muscular tightness surrounding the lung field.
According to the National Institute of Health, ear infections in babies and toddlers are extremely common. An ear infection happens when there is inflammation from trapped bacteria in the middle ear. The middle ear is t connected to the back of the nose and the throat, so when your child has a sore throat, a cold, or an upper respiratory infection, bacteria can spread to the middle ear through the Eustachian tubes.
In children, eustachian tubes are smaller and more horizontal, which makes it more difficult for the fluid to drain out of the ear. When the fluid remains in the warm dark space of the eustachian tube the bacteria can fester resulting in pain that your child feels. Most ear infections go away without any treatment. However, by adjusting the ear and the upper cervical (neck) spine, chiropractic care helps prevent ear infections by restoring proper drainage of the fluid. This allows children to build up their own antibodies, recovering faster and decreasing the chance for future re-occurrences.
Colic by definition means severe and often fluctuating pain in the abdomen caused by intestinal gas or obstruction in the intestines. It is most common during the first six weeks of life and will usually go away on its own by three to four months. Any vertebral subluxation in the thoracic spine and/or upper lumbar spine causing interference to the stomach, intestines, and other abdominal organs could negatively affect the gastric function and result in discomfort and gas causing the baby to cry. By restoring normal function in a child’s nervous system, the digestive tract and related organs have a better opportunity to receive proper nerve supply from the brain. The result is content and healthy baby and happy parents.
