Dr. Kevin Johnson

Dr. Kevin Johnson is happy to be back home.  He is a native of Wilmington and graduated from Laney High School in 1993.  Upon graduating, Dr. Johnson attended East Carolina University earning his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science as well as lettering in varsity soccer.  While playing soccer, he was a scholar athlete which entails the keeping of an overall GPA of 3.25 or higher.

Once he graduated from college, he was not satisfied with his career choice.  He knew he wanted to be in a career that enabled him to help people but was not fulfilled.  He was encouraged to attend chiropractic school by his stepfather, long time successful Wilmington chiropractor, Dr. Robert Van Note.  Being raised with chiropractic at his fingertips since the age of 10 it was a great fit since he was never really sick and if he got hurt playing soccer he recovered quickly.   Dr. Johnson attended Life University, School of Chiropractic and graduated with honors from Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC in 2004.  While in chiropractic school, he was involved with numerous adjusting clubs such as the Thompson technique club, Diversified Full Spine club, Activator club, the Chiropractic Biophysics club, the Pediatric club and the extremity adjusting club.  This allowed him to further his knowledge of treating patients in the clinical setting.  After 7 years of practicing his mission is simple.  It is to help people lead more active and healthy lives no matter what season of life you may be in at this time.  His chiropractic interest lie in treating sports injuries, children, pregnant women, auto accidents, geriatrics’ and people that want to improve their overall peak performance.  He has a certification in treatment of Workers Compensation by the North Carolina Chiropractic Association and has attended numerous continuing education classes in sports injuries, the cervical and lumbar spine, as well as auto accident injuries from the renowned Spinal Research Institute of San Diego by Dr. Arthur Croft.

Dr. Johnson has been married to his wife Heather, another Wilmington native, for 11 years and they have two children.  They attend Port City Community Church involving themselves in small groups that promote the church’s mission, helping people walk with God.  They enjoy spending time together at the beach and going to local sporting events.  Not only is Dr. Johnson still lacing up his soccer boots from time to time, he also is an avid surfer and snowboarder who enjoys being outside.  He and Heather want everyone to know that they are very humbled and excited with the opportunity to be able to serve the patients and their families from the beautiful surrounding Wilmington area.
